END OF ERA

At Flame Tree Park Community meeting in March Ngaire Harmon retired after serving the community as coordonator of NHW since 2004.

Ngaire a young mother of two, established the Flame Tree Park NHW after being subjected to malicious damage to her home. She worked tirelessly to build a strong and industrious committee who together built what we have today. The fact that Flame Tree Park is one of the safest and basically crime free is not by chance, it's because of the work done to build a strong and friendly community that is vigilant. Crimminals will avoid areas if they feel that there is a good chance of being observed and caught.

Thank you Ngaire, because of your efforts we are able to enjoy a safer and less fearful life in Flame Tree Park. We will continue to work and remain vigilant.

Your Flame Tree Park NHW committee is now at full strength thanks to the additional members of our community who have stepped up to the plate. We have held our first committee meeting which was simply a casual meeting to enable us to get to know each other better. At our next committee meeting we will get to the work at hand.

Crime statistics contiue to show that Flame Tree Park is virtually crime free and that's not an accident. We have a friendly environment where neighbours know each other well and take a caring in what is happening in their neighbourhood. Criminals know that because of this high degree of vigilence there is a much higher chance of them being caught.

It is extremely important that you report all crime to the Police no matter how insignificant you may think it is. Malicious damage and graffiti are crimes that need to be reported. Other crimes like attempted break ins to homes or cars should also be reported. Crimes that have been committed should be reportedto 13 14 14.

Here at Flame Tree Park we have a dedicated team of twenty three Street Coordinators that work behind the scenes. Part of their tasks is to distribute our newsletters four times a year. Thay are also the committees's eyes and ears. Thay advise when new neighbours move in so we can provide them with marking equipment for their valuables and a Neighbourhood Watch Package. We couldn't be as effective without our "Streeties" as they are affectionately known.

Our newsletter tries to keep the community informed and provide security tips etc. The latest edition can be found on the right of this page. If you would like to advertise your services to the 670 residents of Flame Tree Park simply contact the Area Coordinator - Some great rates apply.
